Continuing with the popular ABCs series, this program will cover basic biology of the important insect pests associated with nursery and floriculture crops including aphids, whiteflies, mealybugs, thrips, mites, scales, leafhoppers, beetles and leafminers. Special attention will be given to identification of various life stages of the light brown apple moth (LBAM). Management options such as monitoring, IPM and biological control will be discussed. The hands-on program offers the unique educational experience of examining real and preserved specimens. Ample time will be spent examining specimens with instructors.

En continuación con la popular serie de A-B-Cs, este programa cubre la biología básica de importantes plagas de insectos asociadas con los cultivos de viveros y floricultura, como áfidos, mosquitas blancas, piojos harinosos, thrips, ácaros, escamas, saltamontes, escarabajos y minadores de hojas. Se dará atención especial a la identificación de los estadíos biológicos de LBAM. Se discutirán opciones de manejo tales como monitoreo, manejo integrado (IPM), y control biológico.  Este programa práctico ofrece una experiencia educativa única de examinar especímenes vivos y preservados, así como discusiones interactivas con los instructores.
