April 15, 2009 Nursery Cost/Profit Estimator (Webinar)

Post-webinar survey for participants:

Evaluation: Nursery Cost/Profit Estimator Webinar April 15, 2009

This is CORF's first Webinar (Web-based seminar) for greenhouse and nursery managers. Participants won't need to travel anywhere--they can conveniently participate by viewing the presentation through their Web-browser and listening to the audio through their telephone.

A key feature of a Webinar is its interactive elements -- the ability to give, receive and discuss information with the speakers. Included in the registration fee is a computer software program that participants will receive prior to the Webinar. This program will assist them in calculating the cost of production and profit in their own operation. The program uses the cost accounting and pricing information from your own operation to determine the potential profit or loss of plants grown in similar production systems.

Realistic examples of nursery production will be used to demonstrate the impacts of changes in operation, such as finishing plants faster or using different supplies with different prices. The presentation will show the various features of the program, explain how to input data, and show how to create ‘what if’ scenarios for different types of products. There will be opportunities for participants to ask questions.

Participants will need to view the program on April 13 or 14th before participating, so a strict registration deadline of April 12 will be upheld. Easy access details will be emailed upon registration.
